About The Author
David Nivans holds a Ph.D. in historical musicology from University of California Los Angeles and has lectured at California State University Dominguez Hills since 1998. Now retired, his teaching experience consisted of courses in music fundamentals, harmony, counterpoint, musicianship, world music, music appreciation, music and art appreciation, music history, and surveys of popular music, jazz, rock, and film music.
Dr. Nivans studied music theory with the late Wallace H. Bower, Jr., who specialized in structural analysis in the tradition of Heinrich Schenker and Felix Salzer. |
